Multichain as a Side Chain for Bitcoin

Question

Hello, im working on a charity project. No intention to create a new token, we planning to use existing token i.e Bitcoin as the payment system.

Can Multichain have the ability to talk to the Bitcoin chain ?

OR

We have to create an offchain program to talk to the 2 chains. The program will execute Bitcoin payment and record the tx in the sidechain ?

You can use MultiChain as a bitcoin sidechain if you have a trusted intermediary in the middle who is responsible for exchanging funds on one chain for funds on the other. You can also use a multisig address for this to share the responsibility between a number of trusted parties.
