How can I connect multichain to Bitcoin network?

Hi guys,

I have a multichain instance and I want to connect it to the Bitcoin network, download the full ledger and create some wallet addresses in my multichain (which can be used for Bitcoin transfers as well). Is this possible? If yes, can you point me to some documentation on how to do it?

We no longer recommend using MultiChain as a node on the bitcoin network, because of recent changes to the bitcoin protocol like SegWit. But there's also not much advantage in doing so - what advantage are you seeking in using MultiChain instead of Bitcoin Core?
