Is it possible for a Multichain blockchain to be divided into branches like in  bitcoin ? Does the diversity constant have a correlation with this fork phenomenon ?

Yes, it is possible, and forks resolve in the same way as bitcoin – whichever fork is extended first becomes the consensus for all nodes. If you want to minimize forks, the best approach is to set the mining-turnover parameter to 0.0 – this parameter is described in more detail here:
