Recommending Mining Parameters?

I'm using a dedicated server with 4 GB of Ram and 1,024 GB of disk space. What parameters would you recommend? I'm aware Multichain has a block size capability of up 1GB and a block time capability of 2 sec. I'm choosing to keep my blockchain private for now but eventually will want to make it public and I want to guard against miners flooding the network.

If you want to prepare your chain for permissionless mining in future, you need to use an economic mechanism such as proof-of-work to secure against a minority of miners seizing control of the chain. Be aware that MultiChain uses bitcoin's mining algorithm, so your chain would in theory still be vulnerable to a takeover from a small part of bitcoin's mining capacity.
