Asset Issuance Unit Quantity Limitations

+1 vote
Hi, Is there a hard-coded limit to the number of units one can create/define for a new asset being issued on MultiChain? I have asked this question of other blockchain or asset issuance providers regarding their own platforms and have been routinely told there is no limit.

Yet, when I take the time to go through the process on their platforms and try to test issue an asset with 10T+ or 10Q+ units, I typically get an error result. It's like if those platform owners are not aware of a very real limitation.

So specifically, can a MultiChain asset have a total "one-time" unit issuance of

a) 99,000,000,000,000 units?

b) 99,000,000,000,000,000 units?

Thank You.

There is a limit of 263-1 on the total number of raw units that can be issued of any asset, including both the initial issuance and follow-on issuances. Note that this is in raw units, so if an asset is divisible into units of 0.01, it will have 100 times more raw units than display units.
