What side chains or version of MC to use for data storage

Just wondering what the best data storage chain would be to implement with MC that is active for production mode now.

Also on a side note we would be able to list an exchange here that will for certain be listing asset/tokens issued on any MC.

Can you please elaborate on the first part of this question, since we did not understand.
