assigning serial numbers for to each quantity of the asset

I want to add serial number for each quantity and while transfering subset of the asset I want to select subset of serial numbers to identify asset quantities. is there any way to do this?

This is the sub-asset question which comes up once in a while. The basic principle is that, if you want units of an asset to be separately identifiable from each other, rather than absolutely identical and fungible, then you should be using separate assets. Then you can enter the serial number in the metadata of each issued asset.
